Hiked to the summit the other day. Superquad base loading ramp, or rather the foot traffic unloading ramp is getting rebuilt. New snowmaking pipe is being installed near Bullwinkles and they have started foundation work for the secondary pump house. I did not go over to comp hill to check it out. I think I remember someone telling me construction on the cva t-bar was going to start in August but could easily be wrong.

We can safely bet this T-bar isn't happening this year... They will put the blame on staffing and supply chain issues.

Yup - in particular Doppelmayr is busy this summer with about 30 other lift installs just in North America (per Liftblog listing)

According to the latest newsletter from CVA, Doppelmayr has delivered the T-bar towers and components.

It's a T-Bar, much easier install than a chair. Plenty of time to string this thing up before the season.

Hey everyone, it’s been a while. I was just curious if anyone has seen evidence that they’re working on preparations for the new West Mountain HSQ? The last I heard this was the summer for preparations and the installation will take place next summer. Is it still on track as far as you know? Any movement around selling land for new homes?

Thanks for bringing us back to something that should interest most Sugarloafers. Most don’t care much about the T bar for training CVA attendees and others.

I’m just hoping the project doesn’t get delayed further due to the idea there *might* be a recession next year. I want a reason to get excited again about revisiting old and new terrain.

Exactly my fear. Perceived recession or not, interest rates are a lot higher now.

Well that's pretty cool that the planning board accepted. It's a step in the right direction although I expect the project gets delayed another year. I was thinking this summer would consist of clearing land for the bottom terminal, constructing tower footings and cutting trails. Those items will probably happen next summer. It's certainly possible to get everything done in one summer but what is the likelihood? Time to be patient I guess.

Patient, yes. Do we have any choice? Sugarloaf has been talking about a new lift for a decade and there was a survey line cut. It’s been delay after delay after delay. I guess Boyne has better use for the money. It surely feels like it’s the stepchild of the Boyne family.

Boyne is all in on new lifts for next year...
1. Big Sky tram
2. Big Sky gondola phase 1
3. Snoqualmie International
4. Brighton Crest D-Line
5. Gatlinburg gondola
6. Barker
7. West Mountain
8. Highlands D-Line?
9. Shawnee HSQ?

Entirely possible 8 of 11 resorts build lifts next year which would be unprecedented.
