I will take the blame for last weekend. I invited my cousin to come up for his first time in over 20 years. Sugarloaf did not not disappoint.

Who's got a worse weekend forecast, Augusta or Sugarloaf? Washout at the masters, and winds and boiler plate for reggae...

Good question....I wont make it to Reggae this year but will be following the Masters closely from a local bar.

its what you make of it.

mtn received 1" overnight with higher amounts at the summit. maybe 2-3" at the top. drifts on binder and cinderhoe 6" deep. skiing was fantastic this morning, perfect temp summit to mid mtn, spring at the bottom. best tuesday morning ski program of the year.

Reggae day 2 - a nice sunny day to get blown away, or skin up and enjoy fully open BB or just lap Skidway which will likely be the only lift running.

the legendary spring skiing days when SL really shines typically start after Reggae. This year looks to be no exception.

Next weekend looks fantastic , tough call for the mountain to go with Easter weekend instead of pushing back a week in hindsight.

Lift ops might be winding down a little, but the absolute best seven days of the entire season start today. plan accordingly. b632 might need some therapy by the weekend

66 and sunny at the base on Friday, can't remember a weekend this warm with potentially this much terrain being open , 50s and sunny at the top all weekend.

This past Monday was EPIC! As good as it gets. I didn't see any bare spots or any other indication that the mountain was losing snow! The morning was a little tough but by noon everything had softened up. They opened Gondi Line. The icy area as you step in from the cross cut was soft enough to grab an edge. I thought the two best trails were Skidder and Bubblecuffer. Everything was soft. Most encouraging was the amount of snow at the summit unloading area. Again, no signs of stress. The only disappointment was the fact that the King PIne area is done for the season (for weekdays). The trails were not roped off you just had a long way to go to catch a ride back up. Not a cloud in the ski, minor wind, and delightful temps. Definitely the best day of the year!

Love the insight frontface , going to be an epic weekend. I’m not sure in my 10 years of following and keeping up with the times at sugarloaf I’ve ever seen 70 degrees at the base , or 60s at the summit with wall to wall coverage. I truly believe it will be all time.

See you at the rack.

was 70ish degrees for a week in March around the 2010-2012 era which killed the snowpack. From then on it was basically Sluice to Tote. They made snow in April to limp the season along

This week is outstanding with great coverage for sure

I still remember April 20th of 2001. It was at least 70 degrees and everything was open. Skied till noon and legs were toast from mashed potatoes, then sat outside drinking "plastic yards or half yards" of beer from left over reggae (several deep we figured out there was was much less beer than a regular pour for more money). We skied the snowfields and everything was open. IT had been a big snow year and it was one of those special days I have filed away in my brain that I may never experience again.

Actually it was April 21st when I think about it. As it was as Saturday and not a Friday. But a day for all time.

Any insight on weekend lift plans...still says TBD. I suspect it will be Superquad only for last week of the season thru the 1st, however was hoping we might get Skyline for this coming weekend.

I don't have any inside info...but it looks like the open trail count is dropping off a cliff (only 30 this AM! but I'd guess more open later in the day). Saturday looks like the last half decent day before a stretch of r**n starting Sunday.

168" total snow. 110" post Christmas
Today is open day #154, with 10 to go until May 1st which is the expected close date.
233 various lift holds and Timberline accounted for 79 of those (TL was on hold over half of its scheduled days). 5 days where the only open lift was Skidway.
Snowfields were open about 8 days & Brackett was 100% open about 27 days which are both pretty impressive!
That's all I got 8)

this board has provided excellent analysis. kudos to you all. my interpretations are:

summit lift at SL is on windhold more than 50% of the operating days.
about 1 week a year total shutdown due to wind.
you get ~1 to 2 weeks of snowfields / backside in average to good snow years.
you get about a month of brackett basin (seems light, right? i guess stiff snow days add up)
you get about 5 and 1/2 months of skiing at SL

Some wind fencing planned for Timberline. Hopefully gets done this summer. Lots of work on the agenda prior to next season and likely going into it.

Pretty safe bet we're not getting a dump before Monday so I will go ahead and congratulate us on a good snow year. I'll give it a B+. What a relief after the last two dismal years. 66" more snow than last year, and I'll call it 30" more after Christmas. Hope we are back on track for next year.

Not going to make it into May thanks to r^*n tomorrow
So, Sunday 4/31 is the last day of the 22/24 season for Sugarloaf - self proclaimed ‘King of Spring’
(Meanwhile in VT K-mart has less terrain remaining but will be open weekends thru May and Jay will go to at least 5/7)
